I am trying to figure out if I want to get a Lund Renegade 1875. Or a Triton179 TRX. Any help or reviews would be great if anybody has ever owned either one of these boats. Thank you. I understand one is aluminum and the other one is a fiberglass, but with Triton being moved over to the same manufacturer as tracker, I’m just kind of curious if that has devalued it a little bit.

Well I own a Triton TR186 that is 20 years old. The hull is great for a boat that size in rough water and I am just a bigger fan of fiberglass boats in terms of ride and handling. I have been in a 18 aluminum in 2--3 foot rollers and it is a beating. Definitely lighter in terms of towing. It really depends on the lakes you will fish. Either boat that size will maneuver well in creeks.
That's my 2 cents. Good luck.

Looked at a triton at the bass pro shops here and I had a lot of issues with the fit and finish and a lot of concerns. The Nitros looked way better. Gonna pass on a new triton because of the lower quality now that mass production of a boat does now.

Man I don’t know much about the new builds. Obviously mine is the old Earl Bentz edition. Take a look at the smaller Caymus boats.

Lived in MN for some time and almost everyone owns a Lund. Good boat. Had some friends had Triton and they always had problems with them, this is mid 90's and 2000's. I always ran a Basscat, good bunch of guys and had great customer service.

Does anyone know anything about Vexus or Avid? I have fished out of a Vexus several times and can tell you it rides like a fiberglass and has a nicer fit and finish than most brands of fiberglass boats. If I was buying an aluminum boat it would be a Vexus without a doubt.
Retirement best job ever.

You ever ridden or fished out of a CC bay boat? I know people who own bass boats,I just don't know many that are truly happy with them.Me personally the only boats I like are wide open tiller steers and cc's.After owning a couple bass boats and being disappointed I finally broke down and bought a Blue Wave 220 classic which I will never regret. My buddy has a Warrior V2090 that would be my second choice...........but second by a very thin margin. In a perfect world I'd own one of each.Just a little food for thought

After owning several bass boats and riding in various CC’s, I have settled on a multi-species Lund (Tyee 1950.) I feel like I’m sitting on a pad on the floor in a bass boat and I need a post or something to pull myself up (help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up 😆). In a typical CC with more than 2 anglers aboard, there’s usually no place to sit except perhaps on a hatch cover or a cooler lid. In a multi species, you usually have 4 good sturdy full-back pedestal seats and perhaps a couple of fold-down jump seats. We troll and move around the lake a lot, and the Lund handles big water just fine. True, you can catch a lot more overspray running diagnoally to the waves than a CC does, because most aluminum boats don’t have the flared gunwales that CC’s do. But overall I’ve found the Lund design the best compromise for big Texas lakes for myself and my family.
Lund Tyee Magnum 1950, Optimax200, Honda 10 kicker, Lowrance HDS7, Cannon DigiTroll IV, Cannon Mag20, Big Jon side planers. Chasin' wipers & stripers.

Does anyone know anything about Vexus or Avid? Avid has an active Facebook page. Lots of small issues. Seems the toughest of all is customer service. I have talked with the Lund dealer in Sanger several times. They seem like good people and have been around awhile. Talked with a couple people at the Lund factory last year too asking questions about options etc. They were most helpful and willing to work with me. I like the 1975 just to have a bigger profile but the layout is the same on the 1875.

I just bought a 2024 h20 bay by xpress. This boat rides better than the fx 20 skeeter I had.
