You seem like the type of fella who would enjoy getting the looks that come with being in a wheelchair while wearing this shirt. If you want one, PM your shirt size amd address amd I will order it today.

I really like this shirt!
This will go over good in my amputee community-
I already have 3 shirts that poke fun at my “shortcomings”-
Shirts like this will sometimes break the uncomfortableness that some people feel around amputees-
I have flown twice already so been in the airport 4 times and have 2 different times have had someone want take a picture with me/my amputee shirt -
I think it’s normal for people to look, I know I look different now-
I simply refuse to be a source of pity, I know I still enjoy being alive more than many of what I call “normies”, its what I call normal people, if there is such a thing-(have hands and legs is a normy)
I was blessed/fortunate to survive something very few survive, So I’m proud, not sad-

I really appreciate the gesture to order me one but I can get it-
Very kind of you to offer though, I hadn’t seen this one-

I’m going to another amputee convention thing in April in Atlanta, Georgia , I want to wear this there-
Some of us have a dark sense of humor-

But thanks again-

cheers

Honestly been a bit disappointed with them so far-
I believe things will improve but both are “in the shop”
My right had thing was made in Dallas so its in Dallas-
The left one had to be sent back to ohio-
Both are run with microprocessors so once a repair is done we have needed to tweek the settings again-
The places that make these are like most everything nowadays in that there is a wait time -
When they work they are very cool, but when not it can be frustrating-
Imagine getting into your truck and turning the ignition on, put it in gear and it doesn’t move, then it moves when you don’t expect it to-
Or you want to turn right and the hand does something different-
I just have the be patient with the process and be grateful I have these available to me-
I am sure they will get this right as long as we don’t just say screw it-
In the meantime I just do the things with my stumps-
I bowled 12 games last weekend-
I shave with my blade razor -
I brush my teeth-
I drive my golf cart now around my 21 acres alone, I can steer with my left stump and I had my son attach a reacher/grabber to the gas pedal so we now have hand controls for my golf cart-

To sum it up, when working, the hands will be another tool I will use when i need them-

Honestly if I can’t pee with my prosthetics on, well, thats when I will know I can trust them-

Yea, I’ll let your imagination help you understand that challenge lol-

steveiam since you have a sense of humor, on your next flight, have a friend or family member get a seat in the emergency exit row but you sit there. When the FA comes around and asks if you can open the exit door say "yes" and see what they do. That my friend is dark humor. roflmao

That would be funny for sure, but to be honest all four times I’ve flown they board me first and I always get the first row of seats ( the row with the most leg room lol)-
I kinda like the seating I get now-, so there is that-

Steveiam,
Sir you are amazing. You should take Elcoyote up on his offer. I think he would love to do it. It’s not that he thinks you can’t, it just that he want to.

You are a hero. I also think you can be a source of inspiration to other folks who are in a similar situation. Lord bless you!

77skeet- you’re spot on. I absolutely LOVE a good sense of humor, whether it is dark AF like mine, or just upbeat like Steve somehow has, or somewhere in between. Laughing at whatever is funny is important.

Steveiam- pm sent sir.

Steveiam,
is absolutely proof there is a God. He has a great loving attitude through a bad situation as Jesus represents to us
Steve is what we all should be. I have been going through some stuff and Steve is a great inspiration in so many ways to get through it so far, everyone doesn’t have his internal strength

I have made a personal observation that you are In fact a Christian. Steve and a very good one at that, God Bless you and your family

Guys, I really appreciate the kind words, I really do-
I just believe most of us can handle and deal with way more than we think about we are able to-
When sucky things happen, just try and learn what it’s possible to learn from the sucky thing -
Then try to focus on CAN do, and what you WILL be able to do-
I believe if you just don’t give up, and utilize whatever support you have, you CAN get through some very tough situations-

My condition, being a quad amputee really does suck, no getting around that-

But I am truly grateful to be alive, and seeing my loved ones and all that comes with it, makes not giving up worthwhile-
And I’m always trying to improve on my circumstances-

I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes, it really does matter and helps my head stay in a good place-

cheers

Old joke...." Don't ask how he rings the door bell"

pollo

Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

If you put beans in your chili, you don't know beans about chili.

God doesn't create temporary people, you will spend eternity somewhere. Choose wisely.
