Does anyone have experience wrapping small parts on a truck? I have a couple of trim pieces that I’d like to black out and was thinking of using a wrap and doing it myself. I could just order new black trim pieces from Toyota, but wrapping those pieces might be much cheaper. Anyone ever done this? If so what wrap product did you use?

Small trim pieces you don’t want to wrap- definitely use plastic-dip. Most all do it yourself blackout trim jobs are done with this- very forgiving process/.product. https://plastidip.com/

The parts I’m wanting to black out are window trim pieces that are “chrome”. To replace the chrome trim with black is about $600.

Painted the window trim on a 79 Trans Am. Get some scuff pads and sand down the trim. Go to body shop store and pick some SEM trim black paint. Its not too glossy, works great if prepped properly.

If you can pull the pcs get them redone in black chrome or painted..
Scuff em and use epoxy appliance paint, has worked great for me. Prep, prime, paint

You should wrap it with waves and a surf board

Vinyl is a way better option. Plastidip holds up well, is more economical and easier for the do it yourselfer type. Sure if you want a longer lasting professional job then I agree with you.

I’ve done a little research there and found some good information. This is my 2nd tundra. Have you considered the “waves and a surfboard wrap” that somebody mentioned on here?
