Yeah have to agree with you grout. He will make it through though. I have known Mike for a very long time...well over 20 years plus and he did well before Choke and hopefully will continue to do so. Choke will be back God willing and so will all South Texas fishing even though it appears there are still some difficult times to come.
Will never forget asking him to remove a barbed hook from my hand down at Choke one day many years ago on the water....

May not be that tough. Could be really good or bad, it is a slot lake lots of people probably swinging for the fences of the big over. Maybe the bite for unders really does suck big-time!

Didn’t Mike win a BC at Amistad last year? Sure seems like it, I should probably take a trip and learn his techniques. I kick myself in the rear for never going out with Elroy Krueger.

Yes, Mike has won a couple of Champs as best I can remember. He is really a super nice guy besides being a talented angler.

Never went out with Elroy but sure knew him all the way from the time he had his tackle shop in Universal City across from Penick's Marine. Spent of a ton of money with him. You know Krueger Creek at Falcon is named after him don't you?

No, I did not. He always scared me when I went into his store in Three Rivers. Things we regret having never done.



Anyway, hope I didn’t hijack the thread.

I have fished Fork enough in the past to know it was tough. I have had trips where you couldn’t buy an under but whacked the slot fish but the shear number of zeros lead me to believe it was a tough bite after that front.

Unders were very hard to come by today for us guess the cold front effects them little guys more than it does the big slots caught some nice fish only weighed in 2 Unders for 3 pounds only lake around that you will cuss 5 pounders!!
