Most crappie hang out in marinas/boat slips this time of year on that lake, not ideal for guiding. It’s a big lake, it’s a little further north, and it warms up a bit slower than the rest. Earliest I ever caught fish shallow was the last weekend of March on the warmest of years. Sometimes they wouldn’t move up until the second or third week of April. Post spawn and summer fishing is a good on the brush piles too.
