Wasn't going to post this, but after some thought, Champs coming this Sat. so BEWARE. Last Friday between 3pm and Sat morning 8am, SS fish cleaning table, 100# catfish feeder, and three rods and reels, mysteriously disappeared off my dock. I live in Moccasin cove across from LFM. Lucky they didn't get the graphs off my pontoon boat. They definetly came by water, ground so soft from all the rain, there would have been ruts. Called the sheriffs, was told they had doubled the patrols around this end of the lake. METH heads at it again! WATCH YOUR STUFF if you're coming this weekend.

Hate to hear that, Harold. I hope they catch them and you get your stuff back. I have a Reveal cellular game camera mounted high enough to be out of sight looking at our dock at our lakehouse. It will not stop someone from stealing, but hopefully would provide leads with good pictures. It also provides instant notification on my phone so I may be able to catch someone if they jack around long enough.

So sorry for your loss, but it is not a matter of IF, but WHEN something like this happens. As RCarter said, a city or county cannot hire enough police officers to prevent theft. Has been like this for many years, so a person really has to protect their stuff from being stolen whether in a rural or urban environment.

I picked up a brand new trailer in MT Pleasant Saturday. My wife wanted to stop & eat on the way back in the LF area but I wouldn’t do it because I had forgotten to bring a trailer lock.

Fork has been famous for that for sure. They had a real bad rash of that back in the 90's and I even kind of witnessed that when several sonars were stolen off boats in the broad daylight during a weigh in at Attwoods. If I remember right that turned out to be a local county sheriff's son and his buddies doing it and yes meth was the driver. It's everywhere though, I had one of my Rangers tied up at my dad's dock on Caney Lake in Louisiana for the night and my dad was awakened by the sound of an outboard coming into our cove. He went to the kitchen and looked out a window and there was a jon boat with flashlights pulling up next to my Ranger and they were just about to step into my boat when he turned the back porch light on. They hit the scramble button on that jon boat.

Sorry to hear, no shortages of thieves lurking. Deer Cam on the dock. Or simply a sign that says "you are being recorded" on your dock. You can buy one of those dummy security cameras that has a red blinking led. Runs on 2 (AAA) batteries, and will deter someone if they see it. Lastly, a (Come and Take it) flag says many things.. I used the dummy camera for over 10 years on a blind corner of the house. You can see that little red light a mile away. 2 pack of the dummy security cameras 10 bucks on Amazon.

I use a combination of game cams and these fake cameras. At our gate to back of property, I also have a motion sensored LED flood light pointed at where a vehicle’s license plate would be. Had a guy come up and confess the other day that he had pulled off by the gate to pee and didn’t see the camera until he had finished and turned to go back to truck. Said he hoped my wife didn’t check camera footage.

I have a EUFY security camera that is solar power and there is no monthly fee and cost just under $100. , and works great with cell phone. We had Ring but this works a lot better and it free.
