If you can't catch 5 without it, you will not catch 5 with it.

I feel pretty confident - myself fishing with my Garmin for 6-8 hours I can catch more fish than I can without.

This is one of the things that Andrew Upshaw pointed out on his you tube channel looking at tournament results. Weights and the same amount of people are having poor finishes before FFS and now.
With bass fishing I think FFS has had zero effect on this sport; mainly because of the popularity of catch and release.
I'm either going to put it on the boat I have or buy a new one with it on it before to long. Yes I'm an old dude but I spent most of my career working with lots of technologically advanced equipment and understand this a lot better than most of the old guys. It will probably click with me like a young dude.

Show me some examples of people who could not catch 5 without it that are now catching 5

Well he is right- anyone killing it with livescope was already doing well without it. Bottom line some people are just better fisherman.

If you can catch 5 keepers on DFW lakes all year long then you may as well go ahead and qualify for the Elites.

So you are a stud with livescope and a dud without it? I am happy for you- it hasn’t made me an exceptionally good fisherman.

It’s helped me catch fish in situations using techniques I wouldn’t normally be super confident with. Could I have caught as many of my “usual” fish using my “usual” techniques? Maybe. But it’s a blast learning new ways to fool fish into eating fake food items.

There are kids out there that don’t know anything else. They got into it with FFS and that’s what they do. Maybe take a peek at the college fishing events.. kids don’t know what to do without it, like lost pups out there

Do you use 2D sonar? Side scan? If someone can figure out livescope they are more than capable of using mapping or standard locators. It’s hilarious that the never scopers think they have a higher bass IQ and they know stuff that livescope people don’t. Nowadays you can learn a ton from just watching YouTube- stuff that guys had to learn over 25 years you can learn in a few months now.
