Did the same thing about a month ago. Got to spend time a bit back with a touring pro, and was turned on to Seaguar Invix. I bought my first spool of it. Hated seeing the price, but will really be hard pressed to ever by anything else when i am using Fluoro.

Gamma is the best I've ever used. It's so strong I use 14lb Edge for my flipping rod.

To date, I've used Seaguar CarbonPro, InvizX; Sunline FC, & Shooter, Sliverthread Fluorocarbon, and barf Vanish.

On baitcasting gear all of the lines above, except barf Vanish, have worked well.

My comments are as follows:

Vanish: barfbarfbarfbarfbarfbarf

CarbonPro: A good fluoro, reasonable in price.

InvizX: Better than CarbonPro, again at a reasonable price.

Silverthread Fluorocarbon: A good line that in smaller diameters handles better in my experience on spinning gear than the other fluoros that I've tried, and it's the most economical of the not- barf fluoros that I've used.

Sunline FC: a good fluoro, but not readily available, and I'd prefer InvizX or Silverthread Fluorocarbon.

Sunline Shooter: On baitcasting gear this is THE top-dog fluoro. On spinning gear forget it. I'm VERY impressed with the 20 pound test Shooter on my long-gun (7'5" GLX with a Chronarch 100BSV) Senko rig. I'd like to get some 14# test Shooter for my featherweight Weightless Worm rig (St. Croix Legend Elite EC68MXF, 50MG).

I keep hearing that Sunline Sniper is very good on spinning gear. Can someone clue me in on this? Thanks...

My $0.02,
TFP

I actually prefer Sunline Sniper on both baitcast and on some spinning applications. The Sniper just seems more manageable personally to me. I like the Shooter but I just find the Sniper fits my needs better. Most will say they like the Shooter best and to tell the truth its Sunline's premiere line. Both are very abrasion resistant and seem to have a longer than average life on the reel. I just have more confidence using Sunline than anything I have tried. While it is not readily available locally it only takes a minute to order it from online retailers and if you shop around the price can be better than what you are accustomed to or expect. I realize my opinion is probably biased so take it with a grain of salt.

You're on the team. Was gonna take applications and put them through a very strict review process via our board of directors but then I decided since I was about the only member of the team so it was fruitless. Only rule is once you get good at catching bass you're off the team. grin

I started using p-line because a local tackle shop had it in stock and I was tired of breaking off with Vanish. The P-Line has always held up for me.

I have also tried BPS and never had a problem. I have some friends who hate BPS fluoro however.
