...the 39 out there now aren't enough. Neither are the 102 vape stores. They need more.

Gun barrel city is always good for cheap entertainment. I will say tve Chili's in GBC was a pleasant experience. We ate there last night. Place was clean, service abd food was great and you could sit there and have a conversation without the place being deafening loud. It was crowded but people were pretty cordial. I'm not a big fan of Chili's but it was nice. My boat didn't get stolen last night ad the fishing was OK today. Win-win.

Cedar Creek also has a plethora of Mexican, chicken and pizza food places. They are all fair at best. It's pretty bad when Chili's is the best place you can go to. This area is also known to be a auto parts mecca. Have you seen the POS beaters driving around? You need a parts store every half mile in case one of them breaks down. If you also noticed, the area now has many car washes. Why? With so many beaters riding around here why so many car washes? Drugs and alcohol drive this areas economy.

The lake itself is one of my favorites though. Been out there a bunch over the years and though I've seen some weirdness there I've never had any issues.

Some things have improved over the years and some things have got worse. Either way, it is home to me. Better than living in the metro mess. BTW congrats on finishing in the chips yesterday.

Thanks, I was just the net man for most of it. I have this crud going around and yesterday it was kicking my butt. I pretty well ran the TM and netted Mike's fish...

Here in Tool Tx we are getting a park-- A Park! Directly behind the Tool police station,I never had a vote on this park $1.5 million for a park with the state supposedly granted $750K ,anyone who thinks people will come to Tool Tx for a park needs help, the lake is the park Tom Finley Park,a brand new Valero gas station just opened directly across the street from this proposed park with huge signs that read beer and wine,I have been to city council meetings asking what kind of revenue will this park bring in..no answer they already have their minds made up, we have wont mention their name only as deep pockets someone who rumor has it wants to dredge starting from the Arnold Hills area throw up some affordable housing and a marina, pushing many folks out of their long time homes..lm all for growth but a Park? Go look at the park in Seven Points,Gun Barrel $$$$$ we are getting a park while we dont even have a civil defense/tornado siren..Fishy thing's going on $$ Deep Pockets

The least you could have done was visit Walmart, that would easily boost your faith in mankind. There are probably folks living in the trees behind Chili's, kind of an unofficial camp ground. Did you happen to see the folks pan-handling at the intersection of 198 and 334? There is frequently a flower sales person at the entrance of Walmart. We have a lot more attractions to enjoy.

When I read in the paper that Tool was spending all that money on a park, I thought dang! It wasn't long ago the city didn't have enough money to fix their roads and now their building a park? I suppose the next thing they will have are steaks being sold from a food truck. Oh wait, somebody thinks that's also good idea and made "their" land a outdoor oasis? Somebody has to much money and to much political clout but no names will be mentioned.

I'm in Westwood Beach, that mobile store with food truck has half of deep pockets name on it, was so sad at a city council meeting a elderly lady spoke she lived for years in the Royal Oaks addition where the food truck / store is , the first night they had a rock n roll band play only for 1 hour before getting shut down by being to loud...Park?? That piece of land could be used for a assisted living homes we have many elderly folks here..or a mom and pop grocery store like a (Davids) Brookshires is so dam expensive..like I said something is fishy..or can I possibly say corrupt..

I should probably start a new thread but this is 100% accurate. Since the Rona nonsense they have gotten completely out of hand compared to other grocery stores price wise. I used to like our local Brookshires but their prices now make it a last resort stop for us.

The disaster that the area is lays firmly at the feet of law enforcement. They could have cleaned that up and run all those dopers out but for some reason they don't. If you have never spent time there you just have no clue at how obvious the tweekers are. Plain sight, walking around, doing all types of nonsense. Its disgraceful. And I'm not talking about the officers driving around working. I'm talking about Sherriffs, and Police chiefs. There is something going on out there for a long long time now.
