Hope this helps a few. Took a neighbor out yesterday (Friday) 2pm to 635pm. First 2 hrs we tried DS between the islands and 377 bridge in the deep 32ft to 55ft at several wind protected spots due to strong SW at 15 to 20mph. No fish under. Nada. January and February are usually my happy "hero" DS months but this winter has been mostly "zeros" or smaller fish caught with DS tactic. So far LOL. And ive only been practicing DSing the past 15 yrs? Oh well.
The next 1.5 hrs we tried "bass fishing" points and shorelines in 25 to 10fow cuz of "good" catching tips. My confidence is just not good with this tactic when the water is in the 40s. So after a few hundred workout-casts I didn't see much on SI and no hits. Lol
Wind died so we hauled butt eastward to Washita cuz of tips "yesterday was great" there. Nada. Then decided to head in at 6pm, halfway i saw birds went mad by the hundred circling. In 35 mins, it was fast-and-furious-mayhem awesome! We boated 10 BIGs, smallest was 22 to largest 27", most were 24" range and winter football plumbed and they fought GOOD! LOL.
So i went from a zero to a "hero" this time. Haha! I only covered 44 miles on this big arse lake this time.
ARig hooked up 7 and my neighbor caught 3 on white sassy. With that graph we shoulda caught 100? Lol. Fish were suspended in 15 to 20ft in 50fow. The sun finished setting so I guess only a few bigs can see our lures?
Some proof pics we were out there. Lol. Good luck guys!
