Morning Fellas,

I have a Tracker 2019 pro team 175 txw and having some issues with bass damaging their heads in the live well. Here is a screen shot of it - There is a divider and a solid metal/tin top (the bottom of the lid)

Should I remove the divider? It's just me no co-angler for tournaments

Should I put in some pool noodles? Seems common

I would like to ideally have something permanent/soft on the top if that is the area they are jumping and damaging themselves.

I assumed(and looking at guys pulling out fish from theirs) it's ideal to keep live well (21 gallons) 100% full? Or should i be leaving some larger air gap?

Thanks guys!

Pulling the divider, live well 3/4 full and adding the Noodles will probably solve your problem.

How do "Noodles" help? I assume "Noodles" keep water level lower below top & overflow drain opening?

They fill the gap from the surface of the water to the bottom of the livewell lid- reducing sloshing and protecting the fish on rough rides. Lot of folks think they also help calm the fish, but can find no hard data to support this theory.

You can get some closed cell foam sheets on amazon/eBay and stick it to the bottom of the lid. Something like this (ad) https://amzn.to/42x3WNL.

Removing the divider is a good way for a fish to get some speed up and jump out of that livewell (ask me how i know!)

Mildew/mold magnet from my experience.

Interesting, did you specifically use closed cell? Or was it open?

Been many years and 2 boats ago. Honestly can't recall type of foam used.
