I want to leave my graphs on my boat. I know anyone can remove anything at any time. Just looking at options. What are the best locks to prevent removal.

Ever watch your boat and graphs bounce around on the highway? Mine bounce around like crazy..it has to be bad for them. I try and remove mine if I am not on the water.

I've had no issues with Durasafe elocks. Make sure to get them all keyed the same.

I went with the Boat EFX locks... They don't stick out and they're machined aluminum... I just like the looks better... and if your into matching they come in 3 colors... The guys at Boat EFX are good guys and have great customer service... Dan

Seems like most of these locks can be defeated by unscrewing the gimble from the mounting bracket. Only takes slightly more time than undoing knobs.

Durasafes are plastic and for looks only. A simple hit with a hammer, or rock from the parking lot, etc will defeat them.
The BoatXFX are metal, so much harder to defeat. Or course, if someone really wants your electronics, no lock will stop them.
As other mentioned, even locked they can usually be removed gimbal and all since it's typically just a few bolts.
I have BoatXFX, but again, really just a visual deterrant, ie quick stop for gas/snacks/etc. TBH The only reason I haven't removed them alltogther is that they work better than knobs for holding the bungee keeping the covers on while towing.

locks add a layer of protection against honest criminals. If someone wants them bad enough they will get them. i like to think my elocks would deter someone in a parking lot at weigh in or in the parking of a restaurant, gas station etc. if someone's out hunting for graphs they will have the tools to get them.
the durasafe will take a hammer and a phillips screwdriver lol...
