I went to Eriein Bridge and the gate to parking lot is closed. Saw two fisherman on either side of the bridge and they both have 3 or 4. The creek was in its bands but really high. I think Newman’s Bottom would be flooded right now.

Lake Level is 237.26 feet. 0.74 ft below full pool and leveling out. The creeks are all within about a foot of normal.

Pretty bummed about the predicted rain storm on Friday/Saturday. Was hoping to get out there this weekend. It's been way too long. Almost impossible for me to make it out there during the week.

3 things I tell my wife when fishing in "possible" rain.
1) Hook will get wet when hits water
2) Fish are already wet
3) Nothing else matters

Her stern reply - You are 12 short of a dozen!!

Lol. More worried about the creek conditions than getting a little wet. 😉

The banks along the creeks can get dangerously slippery when they are wet. I have taken my share of spills including the same spot on nails 2 years in a row. Lucky I didn’t tear up my knee or worse.

It was a different world when we were boys and girls....

For this reason, I always bring a change of clothes with me. Better safe than sorry. I've fallen in on more than one occasion. I mean, are you really trying if you haven't fallen in the drink a time or two? 😆

One time at Newmans, I had the bright idea of sliding down the banks to get closer to the water. It had recently rained so the banks were really muddy. It didn't occur to me how I would get back up after I had slide down. Took about 15 minutes to find a spot where I could slowly climb back up and get some traction. blush

Fished Nails Creek for a few hours and landed 8 whites. I kept seven for the grease. Best part, I still have the same jig on that I went there with. That you don't get to say very often. LOL Very little water flow in Nails. But I drove over to Irwin bridge to look at the Yegua creek and it's awesome. I had already bleed my fish,so I wasn't able to fish at the Yegua. Talked to J-moe and he was at Irwin bridge. He must have arrived just after I had left, but he was racking them up. He will post on this later I'm sure. Water in the Yegua is muddy, but it has a nice flow and plenty of fish.

The Yegua is heating up flame banana

I fished Irwin Bridge this evening. I caught 20 white bass. About half of them were small males. The water is still muddy with good flow. The fish still won't come up in the water column to take a fly so I continue to swim a Moe-Beta along the bottom to catch fish.

When I arrived there was a guy leaving with a limit of white bass. He said the bite was much better in the morning. That's been my experience so far too.

There were another 8 or 10 people fishing in the area around the bridge. They all had 4 or 5 whites on a stringer. There were lots of throw backs as well.

Every day, at least until Saturday, should improve greatly. Go get um!!!!

Nice reports! Hope the rain doesn't screw things up too bad for the weekend.
