Fished Nails Creek again this morning. I caught 36 white bass, 6 crappie and 2 buffalo. Water is dropping quickly.

Damn! Nice catch, J-Moe. How long did it take you to land that Buffalo?

Getting my reels respooled with fresh line and ordered a bunch of my go to jigs from Arkie lures. Thank you Lord for the rain we needed to get these fish up the creeks for our enjoyment. I was talking to my cousin Eller Troy a few weeks ago and we said it looks like no Yegua fishing this year again which we were truly sad about. We were planning trips to the steps but we prefer the Yegua because it's what we know. Looking forward to taking the 1hour 40 minute drive one way from my house to catch those hard fighting big white bass. See yall out there.

They're a lot easier to land when you catch them in the mouth vs. snagging them by the tail roflmao

It did take about 5 minutes though. He kept trying to run me into the bushes. Made a couple runs and finally tried to sit on the bottom grin

It's still to high, flowing to hard and muddy. I checked on the Middle Yegua as well. Same condition.

Ran Yegua today from the main lake up past Wolf pond. Yegua is still high and fast. Water flowing over the bank at the mouth of the creek. Lake level will rise a bit more this week I'm sure. Fish activity everywhere. Picked up a fat female white full of eggs. Wasn't even trying lol

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

It was good to see lots of folks on Nails yesterday and many full stringers..
It's very important visitor traffic for the Lake Somerville State Park.

Most importantly be kind and respectful to one another and Mother Nature leaving only footprints and taking only fish for dinner!

Please do not litter.. if you tote it in... Take it out!

It was slow today. I managed 13 big males. Must people had 2 to 3.

I went out this evening and caught 6. The water level is back to normal. I suspect this is the typical pattern with Nails. They rush up in there and then leave quickly, before they get trapped. It's a short window this time as the lake is still below normal. I would say 13 was a very good morning considering. Well Done

I'm thinking the Yegua should be fishable in the next few days.

Weatherman is predicting around an inch of rain late Friday night.
