If you’ve never hunted open water crappie you wouldn’t understand it. Just turning the head on the front motor can spook them. Allows you to brake without losing sight of the fish. Dublseat makes a better set up. 270lbs of thrust with brushless motors. The guy that posted that had dominated the crappie circuit for the past couple of years. Are these the same “brakes” that Milliken and the bass guys are using? Yep. Brakes been a thing in crappie fishing for several years. Folks are adding some forward now to speed up trolling so they can cover more water searching for fish. Hayden runs down 2 36v lithium’s every tourney.

This kid is so good that everyone else fishes for 2nd. He has limited out in his winnings and couldn't fish some tournament trails last year, and he's about 24 yrs old or so. One tournament he almost caught as many lbs the 1st day than 2nd place caught in 2 days. He can smash those crappie so fast seems he was averaging 1 bout every 2 mins or so.

They are for open water fish. I don't plan to get them but then again, I don't tourney fish

People here don't know whl Hayden is. I think in the last two years he has won half a million crappie fishing.

Is he running a livescope or an active target? Livescope. Nobody in tournament crappie fishing runs active target. Not even JJ. He fishes out of J Rays boat with a 16” Garmin when he fished crappie tourneys after he moved to Lowrance.
