I have a skeeter Zr21 that came with an electronics package. I have hummingbird back and front with a garmin unit . The garmin transducer is on the trolling motor shaft. I am able to independently move it's pointing direction with a cable.. ie. it turns around on the trolling motor shaft. I am having a hard time finding my targeted tree, post , rock so forth. I have an arrow drawn on the transducer collar to help me see where it is pointed... Should I give up and go have a separate handle installed for the Garmin? Do people successfully use the set ups I have described? Is it a learning curve or a bad design. ??? I am fishing for crappie bass and multi species..

The slice from FFS is very thing, it takes a lot of practice and that’s assuming you have the transducer perfectly straight. Best to spotlock on a known tree/brushpile and practice casting into the cone.
What brand of trolling motor?
