I hate everything about this - but this struck me as odd. From the article: It was an instinctive act, honed by years of training, one teammate going to another's aid. But weighed down by their body armor, weapons, and heavy equipment, the two SEALs plunged into the depths of the Arabian Sea and died, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details of the Jan. 11 raid.
They looked for them for 11 days following. From my understanding of SEAL training it just doesn't smell right.

You'd think flying over water they would have had on gear to float and could strip their heavy duds off in the case they went in. Also I struck me odd that there was never a mention of a beacon. Its a simple device (PLB) that is attached to a life jacket that actuates when it gets in the water and broadcasts for hours before the battery dies.

From what I read, they wear a lighter body armor, but Those guns are heavy and their helmets with night vision are heavy as well, plus they usually have a special task of some type that requires more equipment. Medical, breaching...

I don't trust anything coming from this administration. +1 Yep. Kinda like a few of the “posters” we have here. Ha.
Jeremiah 7:28 KJV
But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Galatians 4 : 16
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Its funny to me that we all know that the military operates much the same way no matter who is in charge yet leaders are blamed. I don't think who was in the WH is to blame for this but no matter.

Wouldn't have happened under Trump because Iran wouldn't have been running rockets to the Hooties.

That is BS. Generals are nominated for the appointment by the President from any eligible officers holding the rank of brigadier general or above who meet the requirements for the position, with the advice of the Secretary of Defense, service secretary (Secretary of the Army, Secretary of the Navy, or Secretary of the Air Force), and if applicable the Joint Chiefs of Staff. For some positions, statute allows the President to waive those requirements for a nominee deemed to serve national interests. The nominee must be confirmed by the United States Senate before the appointee can take office and assume the rank. General ranks may also be given by act of Congress but this is extremely rare. The standard tour for most general positions is three years, bundled as a two-year term plus a one-year extension. The President (with the advise of the "Senate") appoints these military leaders so these "Leaders" could be considered the same as political appointees.
