I was in a shop yesterday and came across an old IM7 red wrap that had a bunch of paint overspray and a splintered tip for $9. It took me back to my teenage years with the TTF rods. I'm new into rod building and bought a kit off of mud hole. I've built one redfish rod and a fly rod but am still trying to find the right "trout" blank. Are their any blanks that are comparable to the red or green wrap Coastal Series TTF rods?

Also, what happened to TTF rods? Last I saw they had the gundog series out and then they disappeared.

I believe they closed their door some years ago.

I'm pretty certain they did, but they just up and disappeared. They had just come out with the gundog series of rods and then poof, they had a big sale on rods and never heard from them again. Just wondering why and trying to find a blank that's comparable.

I have a 7 1/2' that is still my go to paddle tail rod, might be the best rod I've ever owned.

Castaway bought their remaining stock and sold-Castaway kept producing a couple of the models though(Croaker Smoker and popping cork rod)

I jumped on that rod sale, bought five, shoulda bought ten.
Never a huge fan of their plastics, had better success with Hoagies and Nortons, gave them more than a fair trial.

I have a 6 1/2' casting rod that also is on permanent spot in rod holder, favorite topwater rod.

Castaway has a trade in policy. You can google the details. I got two Inshore Smoker rods from them last year that I really like. They gave me $20 each for two rods that I wasn't using anymore. They also offer a Croaker Smoker series and a series for women.

TTF closed but the bait side of things was brought back, Ill reach out and ask if any plans to bring back the rods

I wish SOMEONE would go back to making original pumpkin color. I'd use their red killer, if they'd make it look correct.
