So as some may know I do most of my fishing on my kayak, but I am now looking into getting a little pond boat. Pretty much want to access more water and maybe even have someone tag along every once and a while also maybe use it for duck hunting.. I am looking at the Pelican Bass Raider 10E 10'2" Pontoon Boat. My question is what trolling motor and battery do you all recommend? This will go in the back of my truck, I don't have room for a trailer. I don't mind spending money upfront so I dont have to upgrade later one, I have learned that mistake plenty of times.

Also how to yall enjoy it fishing alone and with someone.

How big of water body are you most likely going to fish? I have the Minn Kota Endura Max 45lb with 42" shaft. It pushes are pond boats pretty good. Money not an object go lithium

One thing to keep in mind when fishing with someone be careful and mindful of each other. Very easy to catch a hook to the face etc.

Id say the largest would be granger/belton/decker lake size. Mostly would be a lot smaller bodies of water like some local small lakes around Round Rock and surrounding areas. Yeah I feel with two we would need to fish opposite sides of the boat. I can see someone tagging along only a few times a year.

Here is one similar to what you posted and a few hundred less expensive. They are all about the same. I've had some form of one since Jr High

So I found this boat on marketplace by my house and the seller is will to let it go for $900. Seller stated that he's only used a few times and ended up getting a bigger boat and that's his reason for selling. I am completely new to boats and motors (I kayak fish pretty much 100% of the time). Seller said its registers till 2025.

My question is is there paper work I need to get from the seller? The seller stated that he has the title for the outboard motor and the sun dolphin doesn't as it is under 14feet.... Again I am a complete rookie when it comes to this stuff. So any insight or things I should be looking out for when its times to pick it up next week. I wont be using a trailer, I will be just loading it on the bed of my truck. Thanks in advance.

Walk away from it. The boat has TX numbers and a registration sticker on the side so it was titled at some point.
No title means no ownership. You won't be able to get the registration renewed.
Any boat with a gas, diesel or propane engine or an electric trolling motor requires registration to be on Texas public waters.
Don't buy into any BS about getting a bonded title as it is a looooooong, slow and painful process.
Just walk away from the deal.

If it floats manufacturers are required to provide a MSO with it.

Thank you. I just called TPWD and the names didn't match. He even said to walk away from it so that ended that. I need it was to good to be true and why he wanted to sell cheap. This right here is why I love this forum. Educating others on new things that are unfamiliar. Thank you.

just the hard part if I want the American 12 or pass raider lol It would be nice to take a friend or the wife out so the American 12 sounds better but have a feeling I might be fishing alone most the time like I already do. But I guess I can take my dog out with me on the american 12 haha
