Do all of the Xi3's come with a built in sonar or is it only the models that state "sonar". I'm wanting to buy a new TM. I don't run any fancy electronics. I am wanting one with spotlock and the ability to plug in my older Hook2 graph without having to install the ducer to the bottom. My unit at the console has GPS so i really don't think i need the Gps installed in the TM. Any Help??

Life journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved state.
But rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy carp what a ride!"

You talked about the age. I'm not sure of that. so yeah buying a new one is the better option. But yesterday didnt have anything to do with the Motorguide.

must have gps in the trolling motor to have spot lock, doesn`t matter what fish finder you have. You can get xi3 without the transducer so make sure you read the description carefully.

I had an Xi3, it didn't do spot lock very well. Often, it would rotate until the cord from the motor to the control unit would wind up in a bind. A few times, it overcorrected with the prop speed and almost threw me out of the boat. I bought mine about 5 years ago, it might be better now.
