MotoGP tickets went on sale this week and after seeing this in Italy would feel like a fool not to go to Austin to check this out - these guys are amazing and can not wait to see what 93 does on a Ducati.
Does anyone have experience around COTA (the track) - I am camping in Lot N and have 3 day passes in turn 15 and I think that will be a nice vantage point.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I have watched F1 and motogp from turn 15. Great spot as you see a bunch of turns which is usually good passing points. There is also a hospitality tent in turn 15. Nice to have a roof over head and access to a bar there if you can find a way to access.

I have been several times but always parked in team parking and spent most of my time in the pits. I will tell you this. Wear comfortable shoes. It is a walking track and when you see something across the track you want to see, it can be a pretty long trek. Have fun.

I can only imagine getting to be truly in the pits...I was in the pits in Mugello...but that wasn't in the back door of the pit like you- oh man would that be a kick!

Take lots of money. When your pockets are full, start stuffing it in your socks.

Used to sit in turn 1 for F1. I walked all over the track taking pics and you will walk a lot if you try to see it all. The high speed S’s from turns 3 to 6 were always a blast to go see. The cars really work through that section and I would imagine so do the bikes and their riders. From 15 you will have to cross both bridges over the track but it isn’t actually that far. Turn 1 was awesome because you get the hill climb and lots of passing chances at the turn. The starts there are always fun too! Turns 11 and 12 get quite a bit of passing action as well with the cars. Not sure about the bikes.

Turn 11 is the hairpin turn where they change directions. That is where you will see the riders drag a knee and an elbow. Take plenty of food and water with you. A single beer inside the track is $7.00-$12.00. If you have time and more $$ ride to the top of the tower. When you get off the elevator be sure to look down at flooring. Breath taking! Moto GP riders really put on a show! Worth the $$$$! Not as crowded as F-1.

I watched one F1 race around turns 7-9. It's before the hairpin turn and it was boring. Just no passing for f1 cars in that spot. Came away thinking that F1 was just a really fast parade. I have since gotten into F1 but you have to know where to look for passes.
