I fished Saturday and Today... Sat was not bad but the wind was cutting making it seem colder... Today was cold early but I was peeling layers by 10am, wound up being pretty warm, into the low 60's. Took advantage and did a little work on the trailer before I pulled out. But cold will be back for upcoming weekend same as you guys, highs in the 40's for us, which is pretty damn cold for NE Florida lol.

But nothing like what you guys are getting I reckon...

I fished this past Thursday morning just before all this really got cranked up. We had a pretty good southwest wind at that point and 45 degree water.

Nah. My boat cover is staying on.

I tried to go to work this morning. Got there, and nobody. This world is getting soft! I understand if it’s a dangerous drive….but just because it’s cold???? Glad I’m only a few minutes from work. Back home eating my breakfast. I guess it’s another Netflix kinda day.

Likely won't get much fishing in this weekend. Thinking I may attend the Fun N Sun event instead.

Back when I was working, I most likely would have been out there. Now that I'm retired, I have become a fair-weather fisherman. Too hot, cold, windy, raining I'm inside with a hot cup of coffee.

Nope. I can go hours without catching a fish from my couch.

Heck I'm fishing today after work.....in Indiana!!
Been below zero last couple nights and ice is forming great! Be eating fresh fish this week!

50 degrees is my cut off. I've been fishing one too many times when the temp is below 50 degrees. Don't ever catch many fish, and freeze the entire time doing it. Not fun for me.

Been there, done that. I remember breaking ice to get to open water. My new motto in my old age is "if it ain't fun, why do it!". Applies to fishing and lot of other stuff.

Oh yeah and my trailer sticking to my boat on day 2 and using a blow torch to unfreeze my steering and taking reels inside so they would work in the morning and waking up on day 2 with 13" of snow in the boat. No mas, amigo.

Northern fish in frozen lakes feed better than Florida strain or mixed Florida bass. I'm done bass fishing in water temperatures in the upper 30s. It's not fun and I'm not fishing for food, so I'm not doing it anymore.

Probably hit it next week. We’ve got an HS tournament coming up on Sandlin in mid February.
