I have a pair of snow board pants I use when it's super cold. They do well

BPS Late Season gear. I’m usually freezing cold out in this stuff but I have been in it all day around the house in the wind. Had to take a layer of clothes off. I’m ready to test out on the lake once my rig is rigged

I follow the old saying “cotton kills”, so, no cotton anything (hoodies, t shirts, jeans, socks, or underwear) cotton will not keep you warm if you get wet.

I start with a set of good thermals they come in all sorts of weights, and either merino wool or polypropylene.

Keeping your core/torso warm is key, I always have either a fleece, wool or primaloft vest on.

I have a pair of heavy fleece pants I wear, they were made by cabelas as and have synthetic quilted thinsulate inside.

I wear a primaloft simms hooded coat, I think it’s called an exstream. I tried kuiu and Sitka stuff, simms is leap years ahead of them. Simms jackets fit way better, they stretch, and they’re built to fish in.

Cover that all up with the goretex shell of your choice, I have a BPS and simms set. I prefer the BPS for colder weather. I don’t the insulated versions, because I much prefer to layer, and take off or put on what I need.

Wear good boots that a big enough you can wiggle your toes, don’t put on five pairs of socks thinking it will keep you warm, just one good pair of wool socks and wiggle your toes.

Make sure you have a good hat, that’s where a lot of your body heat is lost.

A Zippo hand warm is a nice touch, or a buddy heater, just don’t stand to close to the buddy heater! My BPS bibs are melted from that mistake, oops.

I always have a waterproof dry bag in the boat for extra clothes, and if I get hot I shed layers and put them in there, keeps it bone dry.

No cotton is key. I did the ‘ol’ hit a stump and fall off the front deck move one winter, and was upset I had ruined my day, I kept fishing and was surprised how dry I was after getting out of the water, it wasn’t comfortable, but I was comfortable enough to stay out the rest of the day.

never really had an issue in Texas, feet and hands are my main issue. Thermals, jeans and rain suit, handle 99% of the weather in Texas.

Well. When you’re fishing 16-20oz swimbaits in November in Minnesota before ice up on 80ibs braid, it’s ideal to have a buddy heater to thaw out frozen reels, and to thaw your trolling motor if it’s frozen in the mount and you can’t deploy or pull it out of the water.

I have one that mounts directly to a 20ibs LP tank, I stuff the LP inside a milk crate to keep it from tipping over.

I lived in Texas for about 7 years, and was always perplexed at how some dress for the cold, and then wonder why they don’t like winter fishing.

I have a passion for fishing in cold weather. No crowds and big fish. Many that are out aren’t fishing because they are miserable and have their hands down their pants keeping warm.

I don' have any fishing buddies that would want to fish if it was that cold and 2, they would rather leave me in the truck than watch me trip over a heater and fall off the boat , although, rj did chip ice off his boat one morning to take me fishing

Start with this and some smart wool socks. Simms extreme pants/jacket and your good to go.

Stormr Strykr neoprene suit is amazing. Just a hoodie and jeans underneath and keeps you warm. Takes some getting used to because it's more form-fitting than a regular rainsuit, but that allows max movement. Multiple layers are great until they restrict your mobility.

I learned about them at the 2013 Bassmaster Classic when it was 9 degrees at take off -- Hackney and some others had it and they were the only ones who looked comfortable.

I worked in a refrigerated environment for close to a decade and did a lot of bass tournaments in the cold many moons ago. It's all about layers that fit loose, including the boots. In the coldest conditions just blue jeans, a T-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, a pull over sweater, and an old Sterns rain suit, thick cotton or wool socks, and rubber boots about one to two sizes to big. It's all about air space that will heat up from your body and CIRCULATION. The rain suit obviously you can't get anymore but it was made out of a solid material; no coated cloth or fiber, and air couldn't penetrate it, especially running down the lake.

Lets see some of those catches from 1 1/4lb swimbaits.

Or are you just talking out of your [censored] as usual?
