Does anyone use Demon Dragons as their float? Have they improved your bite rate?

They will dramatically improve your bite I guarantee it. Use code ElGato20 at www.DemonDragons.com for 20% off your order. I’m running the Brutes on our giant baits and 3.0 on regular baits and our results speak for themselves. I won’t throw a rig without one👍

Thanks for the answer.
What kind of knots are you tying on each end between the swivel and hook? And how much before the Demon and how much line after?

I don’t believe the color makes a difference but I use The Monty’s Revenge or the High Fin Blue because they look natural. I run approx 2-3 ft to my Demon Dragon and 2–3 inches to my hook

I’m with El Gato on this. He turned me onto them a few years ago now all my rigs have them when I drag baits. Brutes for big stinger hook rigs and 3.0 for normal size baits. I don’t tie directly to the demon, I thread the demon onto the leader line and use a small zip tie on the center eye of the 3.0 that way you can slide the demon up and down the leader. The brutes don’t have a center eye, they just have and eye on the front and back of the demon, for these I double the leader back thru the eye and it will hold it in place. Hope that makes sense. I also use 80# mono for my leader line.

Those aren’t even close to a Demon Dragon Fushing Nut. Yours has a single marble rolling in it that barely makes a noise. Try floating one in your tub and you’ll barely hear a sound. Demon Dragons are duel chambered and rattle like crazy with the slightest movement. It makes a huge difference I can promise you that.

I was using the dragons, but it became another piece of gear that I had to tie a knot at each end of, and that combined with the expense (they are not cheap) and losing gear getting snagged, was stacking up the $$$ every time I used them. Then I went on a fishing trip for a few days with one of the top guides down in Alabama, and myself and two other men who both regularly post on here, caught a metric ton of monster blues and flatheads, and the guide never uses a single dragon. I came home and decided to go back to balsa floats, and honestly didn't really notice a difference apart from saving $$$$.

I lose a lot of tackle due to rocks and other debris. I'm not dropping that amount of coin on a sound maker that has a high chance of not making it through one fishing trip.

I also use 80# mono for my leader line. I run the leader line through the front and back eyelets. Then I wrap a piece of electrical tape around each end to secure it. That way, if I need to adjust my leader, I just remove the tape and reset it.

Bob I got the idea from Chris, so I can't take credit for it.
I used peg floats for years until I started using dragons and I have caught a lot more big fish using them. Maybe its because I am a better fisherman now or maybe its the dragons, who knows. But I will continue to use them as I have confidence in them. When I first started using them I didn't run them on all my lines and tried to do a comparison that way, some days the dragons got bit more and some days they all got bit the same, but I never had a day where the peg floats out fished the dragons. Blues are predator fish and they pick up sounds thru their lateral line so a little noise and vibration can't hurt in my opinion. Plus when little fish are down there pecking on the bait the rattle is making even more noise, which in my mind helps draw in bigger fish (at least that my opinion)
You are right, they aren't cheap, but not much in this world is cheap anymore and since life is so hectic now and I don't get to fish as much as I used to I need to increase my odds as much as possible.

I get that fishing nut. Fortunately for me it’s rare I ever lose a rig any more dragging 2 oz Carolina Lake Weights. I’ve lost 20 rigs in 2 yrs since I switched and before that I lost an average of 100 rigs per year dragging every brand available and making my own. They have saved me 2k in lost tackle over that time. I fish hard every week and I’m not afraid to go up into the stump fields.
If no rattle is working good for you Bob then stick with it. I know catfish are attracted to them because I bring big fish to the boat that have just the rattle in their mouth. They wanted the rattle over the bait. They have been working great for us for many years. 240 fish over 20 lbs in the boat in 2023, 16 over 50 lbs, 4 over 70, all while being a weekend angler and they all came off a Demon Dragon. All 14 records we broke last year came off Demon Dragons. To say I have 100% confidence in them would be an understatement

Is this type of setup only good for boat fishing or can you get by with bank fishing
