Have a 93sv, not be on the water the last few months, went out yesterday and the preloaded US lakevu maps are gone. After it says loading maps it says none. Also every time I turn it on its trying to go through the initial setup process ask for language and initial settings etc. I did update to firmware version 25.00 awhile back not sure if that could have caused it, however I also did that on my other units and they work fine. Anyone had an issue like this, is there a way to resolve with hard reset or firmware update?

Man I am not sure as I have never lost the maps on my Garmins. Have you done a factory reset on the unit. You would lose all of your memory 1-4 and maybe any combos you may have created. If that does not work, I would go in and update the units again with the latest software through Active Captain on your phone. If that doesn't work, I would call Garmin. As you probably know Garmin CS is the best, I am sure they can resolve the problem for you.

How do you do a hard reset on the UHD units? I only see soft reset through the setting menu and that did nothing. Also why use active captain to update firmware and not just SD card of zip file downloaded from garmin website? I am not familiar with active captain of what that is.

I had one do that to me about a year ago. Unit was 6 years old. Had to replace it could never get it to show maps again. Did update and wouldn't turn back on after that.

To this day still don't know why it stopped working good luck.
