Anyone mix their own hot sauce that they wouldnt mind sharing? I just bought a gallon jug of Franks and want to make a couple different sauces.

Back in the day I had some friends that worked at a wing place and the go to was Franks cut with a bunch of butter and some lemon juice added.

I make pepper sauce but it is jalapeños and vinegar. Add some garlic and mustard seed.

I can't help. But I was gifted a GALLON of Tabasco by my brother. Don't know what to do with it.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Hot sauce is one of those “foods” that is just not feasible to make at home. It can be done and is better than what you will buy, but it is a “process.” Ha.

Now if you use it by the gallons, maybe. Fermentation is tricky to use “part” time in canning. It’s one thing I simply purchase for use. I really only use it in my potato soup.

I too make a “pepper sauce” as mentioned above to soak fish filets in. That’s some goodness.

Good luck with your search.

Go to 10 minute mark to see some impressive vomit

I've done for wings without lemon juice

I have a couple quarts of habaneros that have been fermenting the last 3 months. Haven't decided how and with what else I'm going to process them with yet.

Let us know how the final product turns out.

That's what I use to cook my fish in when I'm not doing Fried Fish. I make a boat out of foil and put that in and set my fish in it with the top open and cook it in my smoker.

I mix my own but from stuff that is bottled.

I use Valentia's black as a base, a little more than half.
Then Bufalo Chipotle sauce. I do not see this in the stores anymore so I order it.. I just buy a case at a time because of cost..

Then some Dave's Insanity for a little more heat... I use between a 1/2 and a teaspoon.

I mix it up in a re-purposed hot sauce bottle.

Do you want hot sauce or salsa?

I think the Fuzzy's hot sauce is about the best hot sauce on the market.
