looking at a used ultrex. I currently have older lowrance electronics. Do you have to have anything special for the spot lock to work on an ultrex? Like, will this spot lock work if i dont have ot hooked to a humiongbird depth finder?

I have an Ultrex and Lowrance electronics. The Ultrex has it's won GPS receiver. It is totally independent of the electronics.

Spot lock is a feature of the trolling motor and has nothing to do with the electronics connected to it.

Thank you. Wasnt 100% sure. I read a reply somwhere that someone said that they didnt have a heading sensor so thier spot lock wouldnt work.

Spot lock works without the heading sensor. All it’s for is the jog feature on the remote. When calibrated it knows which way the tm is pointing and will let you move on 5’ increments in the direction you choose.

You'll have spot lock but no Auto Pilot functions.

You will have Auto Pilot via the foot pedal (N button) and remote, just not activated using a Humminbird display.

$1200 is about the going price for a clean used one.

This one has an Mdi transducer that comes with it. What is that for?

MDI is Mega Down Imaging and only works with compatible Humminbird units. both MDI and MSI (Mega Side Imaging) will work with it.

The MDI transducer does HW CHIRP 2D sonar and 455/800/1200 kHz Down Imaging and Temperature.
