Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

When that channel around there gets dredged (either the ship channel or the harbor channel) the dredge may pump the discharge into this area. There are levees surrounding it. The idea is that the dirty water goes in, and the dirt settles out and “clear” water drains out. The structure that you circled I believe is the outfall. This is the drain for the area. They can use the structure to adjust the water level in the placement area. There are these dredge placement areas all along the Houston Ship Channel and the ICWW.
