Received my homeowners renewal today. Higher by $1,100 or 40%. Got my insurance guy checking around. Hopefully, he can claw some of that back.

It is coming in the form of higher deductibles. Most are going to 2% wind & hail and I have seen one company routinely offering renewal at 3%

Insurance is not intended to be benevolent but a for profit business. They carefully do an analysis of the cost of insuring based on their policy and set rates accordingly. With the cost of homes and repair costs, it is no wonder that the cost is increasing. It has to.
