I went through all of this several years ago and went through an in-office sleep study. I would never want to go through that ordeal again. You have wires connected to every part of your body. I don't think I ever did go to sleep. Tests indicated that I did not have sleep apnea, but my doctor recommended an APAP machine anyway. I used it for about 4 years until the aerator pump went out. In the meantime, I had lost about 40 pounds and stopped the constant, horrible snoring. My Wife snores occasionally, but nothing like me.

In the past, I tried all kinds of remedies for snoring. Mouth pieces, chin straps, sprays, sleeping only on my side, tape, on and on. Nothing worked.

Your Wife may or may not having sleep apnea. but the CPAP machine WILL stop her snoring.

BTW - a white noise machine has to set on a pretty high volume to drown out really bad snoring.

Be safe,

Just lightly slap her on the forehead each time you hear it.

When my wife snores I pull on her pillow if that does not work I give her a little push, then a little harder push, if that does not work I wake her up.

My wife is a petite person, but she has a deviated septum. So she snores just about every night. I have a white noise maker that does the trick, I will wake up at any sound. If I’m sound asleep the white noise maker does the trick, if I have to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I have to use an ear plug + the white noise maker to sleep once I get back in bed.

For those of y'all looking for a way to drown out the noise, I was using green noise to help me sleep at night...now I use a YouTube video (it's just audio with a black screen) of a snow storm...the howling wind is just so freaking relaxing. Love it!

My wife snores a little, but not too bad. Her mother snored and could wake the dead. If I’m on my back, I can really snore, but when on my side I don’t. If I flop over on my back, I get the elbow. Does the OP’s wife snore when she’s side sleeping?

The oldest SiL says that his wife, our daughter, snores like a chainsaw. They have moved to separate bedrooms. The youngest SiL is the snoring one, but they just got a bigger bed and are toughing it out, she says. These are all fairly lean folks.

I agree I sleep with a BiPap every night for the last 5-6 years.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I can't imagine that helps the middle of the night fun stuff.

LOL. It's when that mask gets taken off in the middle of the night is a sign for her to start taking things off as well.

I believe she has tried something like that. Didn't work. Last night she never snored. She asked me of her grade this morning and she was surprised when i told her I never heard her last night.

My ENT said he can fix my wife’s snoring with a little snip at the back of the throat. Of course insurance doesn’t cover it. Couple of years ago it was $300. We’ll probably check it into it again in Feb when I get my yearly cancer check.
