Along with my annual calendar my agent sent a list of the reasons for auto and home rate increases. [Linked Image]

How the heck does supply chain issues have anything to do with a home already built and being lived in rate wise?

In addition they charge you based on the vehicle you drive, your driving record, claims history abd credit rating? Why should EV replacement costs affect anyone other than an EV driver?

Used to be you could self-insure in Texas. Probably still the case if you don't want to pay an insurance company to cover your needs.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

The only actual factors that go into getting bent over on auto insurance are the rising number of uninsured illegals pouring across our borders driving around with paper tags, and the inflated cost of materials due to the Covid hoax and mandated shutdowns associated with it. Merry Christmas...where's the Tylenol.

I have not checked lately but at one time you had to prove $250,000 of financial responsibility.

It’s another part of organized theft.

Can’t get that money out of the people who refuse to pay.

you can self insure but you would be a complete idiot to do it imo.

https://texas.public.law/statutes/tex._transp._code_section_601.124

The law does have several options for this:

Surety bonds, from at least two sureties, backed by real property, in amounts equal to the minimum insurance requirements. The sureties must have equity in the properties at least double the value of the bond. The bonds create a lien in favor of the state, transferable to a successful plaintiff in a civil suit
Depositing cash or securities worth $55000 with the state comptroller
Depositing cash or a cashier's check worth $55000 with the county judge of the county where the car is registered
The owner of 25 or more cars may apply for a certificate of self insurance

I’ve got a long rant but no one would finish reading it.
Long story short I got roof replaced.
Months later I discover my floor is wet and has been getting wet ever since my new roof.
Call insurance and roofers.
I repeat this process three times because the leak I never had before still wasn’t fixed.

I had no idea but the insurance company opened up a different claim ever time I called them back.
Three claims filed in their eyes.
I’m uninsurable by anyone but my current carrier.

I could seriously hurt someone.
