I guess it depends on what urban area you live in right.

Holy Smokes! ! ! You’re gonna have to buy yourself a bigger freezer. Another good catch. Way to go.

I do well over a 100 crappie a year, most over 3lbs. At least a ½ dozen over 3lbs. come from community ponds, city lakes or private ponds. Bass are the same way. Just had a 10lbs.+ come in from a community pond in Austin yesterday. I have 4 crappie I'm starting on....all pushing 3lbs. from a community pond north of Dallas. I guess most folks drive on by!

Biggest crappie I’ve ever seen caught came out of a neighborhood pond. Unbelievable size on this crappie,

and pond is probably less that 1 acre.

A few years ago Debbie caught a 17 1/2 '' Crappie while fishing for sunfish using a worm and bobber in about 2 feet of water behind the Southlake town center. That place is full of fish... fish

Tanks! Yeah, I regularly catch 1.5 - 1.75 lb. crappie off lone tree in 6-7 FOW in a neighborhood pond. They are in there, just gotta go to and catch 'em.
