Probably May thru November. They catch them pretty good through that time period. I would go before it gets real hot or after it cools some. I like May and mid October to mid November.
Trout and Reds. Flounder except when they are catch and release.
What other species do you want ? Sheepshead, Black Drum?
Taking your boat or guide?
Meat trip or straighten line?

I am in for all species. I guess I lean towards meat haul, but a big red or two would be nice as well. This will be a guided trip.. I am thinking Hackberry rod and gun.. You have to book in advance hence the request for best general time of year..

Hackberry Rod and Gun is good. They have plenty of guides out all the time. They keep on the fish pretty well.
If you go to their Facebook page they post a lot of catch pics. You can work back through the year and see about how they are doing. Pick a period where they are catching what you want.
Calcasieu hasn’t been super the last few years. It’s getting better without having any floods. You can still catch them pretty good. Lots more sheepshead and black drum in the police than you used to see. Both are good eating especially if you have someone else cleaning them.
La has changed the trout limits a little. Now is 15 statewide 13 to 20” with 2 allowed over 20”. No limit for guides but they can fish. Not much of a change at Calcasieu which was already 15 a day 12” +. The rest of the state was 25 a day. Reds are still 5 per day. 16” to 27” with one over 27”. Best are about 18” on the half shell. You can still keep a pretty good mess of fish to take home.
