We are fed up with DIRECTV and want something we can stream. For those that have turned off cable what are you using as the replacement?

We use FUBO tv and am happy with the channel selection and the cost. Still thinking of trying YouTube TV at some point.

That is what I have had for about 5 years now... not missed a thing.

Now you still do have to pay for your internet separately, but STILL I have saved at least $50 a month for years now... and like I said not missed a thing.

And then if I want to check out something like the new Stars Wars stuff on Disney I can do a trial, binge it for a month then cancel. Done that a few times.

Be careful that you don't find yourself with multiple streaming subscriptions that end costing as much or more than Dish or cable.

Oh and another "tip". Check your internet speed/price.

I noticed that the speed I have had they do not even offer anymore! They did not bother to tell me. When I looked into it I found I could 3x my speed for the exact same price... I just had to ask.

They sent a tech to replace my dated router and do an upgrade on the equipment in the garage. This was with Frontier (was Verizon Fios when I started with them... good stuff! Almost NEVER have an issue). None of that cost me a nickel. Honestly I have not noticed a difference in the speed or any impact of the "new" hardware but still... price was right.

bounce around between youtube TV, hulu, amazon prime, hbo/max, showtime, etc.

it's really, really nice being able to sign up for a month, cancel for month, renew again next month, cancel again, when i want to...all online, mind you...

IDK.

I have MLB TV. to watch baseball. You wont see the Rangers or Trash-stros on there though if you live in Texas. At least not live. You can watch them as soon as the game ends. Just can not watch live. No matter to me though I follow out of market teams.

Go Dodgers!

Its not cheap but if you are baseball fan its well worth the $200 for the full season. You get every single game all season, with options to watch the home or visitors feed AND same for their radio broadcasts. The app works great on your phone as well for radio OR to watch on your phone. You can pull the games going back at least a week... So if you are busy during the week and want to catch up and watch baseball all day on a Saturday you can do that AND you can FFWD the commercials so you can legit watch a game in some cases in just over an hour.

As far as Stars, I really only like hockey in person or post season, the post season you can find on ESPN etc. If you are big into Hockey I am sure they have some similar app or subscription?

Bally had most of the Rangers, Mavs and Stars games this year.
It costs about $140 a year to subscribe to it so just stayed with DTV with a package that includes Bally.

If not for that I'd be gone from satellite.

This is easy to do. Depends on what you're goal was in dropping cable. For me, it was less about spend and ,pre about not being locked into a long-term contract. I like that I can now add or drop channels/services as I please.
I use YouTube TV for my core package.
