very tough.. caught one crappie and a couple of largemouth.. covered alot of area, and found fish in 2 areas but they had severe lockjaw.. when you find this, and can only get one to bite, its humbling,. makes you want to camp out on them and wait them out. on a positive note, they will likely hang out there for a while, so now I have to get thier feed schedule down.,, the ramp with the bathrooms is usuable but the other one is still too shallow., there is still a bunch of sand at the water level remenant from when the lake authorities dumped a huge pile of sand in front of it.. kind of sketchy, but doable just back close to the walkway... ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/12/full-43049-208046-20231216_132432.jpg)
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I've been hitting Tradinghouse pretty regularly for the last 8-10 weeks. I have been consistently boating 30-40 crappie with about half making it to the live well. They have been really picky, though. Only color pattern that has been consistent for me is purple shad or blue shad on a 1/16 head. Also had to weed through lots of juvenile bass and this one flathead that nearly spooled me before he gave up! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/12/full-42775-208123-flatty.jpg)

good job.. ,, we got there kind of late, historically ive done best there from break of day, till around 10 am.. . I just dont like getting up that early any more to go chase fish.,,. I did try a 1/32 oz purple hair jig, as well as alot of other colors,. the fish were keeping tabs on small schools of small shad near the bottom, .. we kept waiting for them to bust into them, but they never did. the whitecaps kept us off of my number one spot most of the day.. we finally got a chance to go try it, but the fish were gone,, they usually leave that area before 11 am.. on a positive note I did find a spot just haphazardly that I would never have thought they would be.. so now I have another wintertime spot to go check.. I was curious because tradinghouse had been closed all summer and was kind of surprised how many boats were there. what was the average ratio of black to white crappie you were getting?
thats a very tasty looking flatty,, hadnt caught one in several years... one of the best tasting fish on the planet.,,. to me it tastes alot like halibut.. ,

what was the average ratio of black to white crappie you were getting?, Most of the short ones have been whites, but those that make the length to go to the live well are split pretty even between whites and blacks.
