I’m not sure that’s necessary, since he already owns all the local officials and a few Senators.

So he can wipe his butt with what dignity the locals have left.

Completely transform it into a bougie paradise

Me, you, and WAWI should open an Overseas Motors and be the first in Fairfield to sell, Rolls Royce, Bugatti, McLaren, and Porsche. Maybe a truck conversion place that specializes in F650 grocery getters for the hordes of wakeboats.

I was thinking a liquor store / vape shop / strip club

People's vices is where the real profit lies

There are already a few vape shops. Freestone county was dry up until recently and only sells (soft liquor) wine and beer. The topless joint on I45 North went bankrupt years ago and has been torn down. One of our Subway’s closed last month, because people here can’t afford a $5 foot long. So I wouldn’t count on the 10 rich people that build a trophy house to sustain anything, it’s probably going to make the area quieter without all the park and lake traffic. They estimated a max of 100 full time residents, which is a far cry short of the 85,000 yearly park visitors.

Buy hey all that new tax revenue will be fun to spend, we need a few more air conditioned John Deers to mow with and some gold to pave our streets.

You guys keep enjoying the rat race and traffic wherever you happen to be : )

Misleading title: the state chose not to fully flex its eminent domain muscle.
I’m so tired of the media half truths. Ketamine is a powerful dissasociative anaesthetic sedative, not an antidepressant. Is it utilized in some gray areas to treat severe, severe depression, well only via the administration of a physician with airway and oxygen support and vital sign monitoring.

Dang CCTX ….You took a serious turn off subject about Ketamine..lol Just to clarify for the people that don’t know, I’m assuming that is in reference to the reporting about Matthew Perry’s cause of death?

David, leave it be.

NO.

Let it alone.

Nope.

It will die on its own if you stay out of it.

Well, ok.

This is starting to have to makings of a "good" 1980s rich folks vs locals ski resort movie.

Rich elites move in, close down fishing hole and turn it into a wake board lake. The locals beg our hero to enter the wake boat competition and win back the right to fish there. Hero is reluctant because he enjoys fishing at the bigger lake down the road and has no interest in wake boarding anymore. Hero sees a local kid in overalls holding a fishing pole and a piece of plywood get turned away from the gate by a cackling Todd telling him to go play somewhere else and not sully the new place. Hero has a flashback remembering when daddy would pull him around on a piece of plywood behind the jonboat after a day of fishing. Flash forward to hero putting down his fishing pole and a montage of relearning how to surf a piece of plywood. Hero enters competition. Wins in close call. Locals scream in delight. Todd calls sheriff to escort them off property anyway (because this is a realistic movie and your not winning back the rights to private property). Scatter in scenes of rich folks going to town to run down the locals and buy up whatever is left. Hilarity ensues. I win oscar for writing best movie. End thread.

Apologies, was trying to compare the recent Fairfield public demise with the other famous recent well known death being reported by the news. These 20% media truths are dangerous and a disservice. Eminent domain wasn’t enforced and antidepressants did not cause Perry to drown or stop breathing.

RIP to both. Long live The Fonz.

Look I am friends with a certain professional bass fisherman from WFord. He says the MLF is going to have a tournament on former Lake Fairfield for all the new home owner’s entertainment

MLF won’t be around by the time they start digging the first foundation.
