That's right.....they both have some new kind of mounting system and are only sold as a pair. They hit the market a few days ago and have already stopped production.....it'll be worth a ton of money one day. That's nothing though. Take a look at these Daiwa Wajima Special rods and reels. They are made with an ancient ceramic finishing technique only still known and practiced by a few men in japan. The men themselves are considered living works of art! Below are pictures and here is a link to a page where you can actually buy one of these reels. I'll let you guys do the currency conversion....it makes me feel frugal.

Very nice! The Wajima looks like a good collector peice but 4k for a reel i would be reluctant to get dirty just doesnt seem right. Would look good hanging up in the office though.

Oh yeah! I fish with them all the time! I don't let other people use them very often but I have become really good at not hurting my gear and can fish them heavy with no consequences. I wouldn't have them if I didn't fish them.......when the fish aren't biting, I still have a blast!!

Yup....all the time. I prefer Texoma for the big cats and lack of timber since I run a center console but chasing the sandies at Roberts is always a blast. I have a big boat at the marina I need to sell cheap.....its a 41' 1969 model Chris Craft in awesome condition. The teak on the back is all brand new too. LOL..Sorry for trying to sell something here but you reminded me that I'm slacking off and its costing me $400 a month.
