I have sun gloves that are sold at Cabelas or Bass Pro or any fly-fishing store. Mine are actually probably a size too big so the fingerless gloves go up almost to the very tips of my fingers. They're perfect because they cover my hands and keep them from getting too much sun (I also wear these gloves on the job...not just for fishing) but they leave my fingers open and able to tie on flys, etc.

there are a number of fly fishing companies making stripping gloves or a stripping finger sleeve. i think cabelas may have some, I know i've foun them online from a few other fly shops.

i use lycra, actually once i use up a pair of underarmour or and underarmour shirt (their material is silky smooth, stretchy and perfect for this) I cut out enough to wrap around my finger or two fingers and thumb and then sew it up. the sleve will slip on, i leave it open so i don't cover my finger tips and the line glides smoothly threw it.

When i used to go out for marlin, roosterfish or tuna you had to have something to protect your stripping finger! Even a long day on a river or lake will wear on you. Shop around or make your own, this is a common problem.

hope that helps (:

Artan

I got some sun gloves at Cabelas. They will not only protect from sun but also line burn and are supposed to keep strippers away as well. (That's a good thing right?)
