Modify Rod Storage 190 Skeeter SX 2005
Modify Rod Storage in my Skeeter 190SX. The built in storage on the left or right side is not long enough for todays rods. I can put two or three rods in a rod sock and put them in the locker on the side. I usually can get them out that way. I've placed 1 rod in 1 rod sock in locker on the side and pulled it out broken. It got caught on something.
Has anyone taken out the center storage. - that is the easy part, about 8 screws. Still unable to get and angle from the center storage to place a rod in. I'm thinking about modifying the built in cooler. It is in the center. I do not want to damage the integrity of the boat. Has anyone tried this? If I'm posting this in the wrong thread let me know. |

You can tell me I'm crazy or great idea. All opinions or thoughts are welcome. Maybe the best bet is Rod socks and use my current storage. Pray they don't get hooked on anything.

I don’t know what the deal is. I didn’t think that boat was that poorly designed. I have an 03 TZX190 and I can get 24 rods in the port side box without damaging any. I can even get an 8ft rod in there.

What is causing the damage?

With Steez on this one....I had an 02 ZX190 and the port locker would fit all my rods. The longest rod I had was a 7'6 and it would fit fine. Didn't use rod sleeves. Just wrapped line around rod so it was tight and wouldn't catch when pulled out.
