With the current lake level are any of the boat ramps around serviceable?

Got stuck today at birch - Trailer dropped off and 2wd couldn't get it done. Was hoping there would be a ramp around with some concrete left

Overlook is fine. You can launch at birch if you have 4wd and dont mind getting your feet wet

I think generally the east side ramps are good

Launched at the Marina yesterday and the ramp is good. If you launch by yourself you'll have to beach it because the little dock is out of the water so you're going to get wet. The water level in the marina is around 5' well past the no wake buoys, water temp is 57-59, fished from 10-2:30 caught some good healthy fish nothing bigger than 3lbs but enough to keep me interested.

Great info thank you - 3 lbs is more then enough to want me to see a change in scenery. Only getting that on Bastrop and my eyes need to see some new shoreline bad..

I really want to be able to Launch at Yegua Creek Park or Rocky Point. Going to 36 and north that less leg of the drive for me seems soooo long after I pass Rocky on 1948.

I live 500yds from the lake on the SW side, use to launch at Rocky Creek 2 miles away and then they eliminated day use, so I have to do the same thing and drive to the marina and they don't sell yearly passes, really fun dodging deer and pigs on 1948 before sun up. I heard last week they dumped a bunch of Striper smolts in the lake, there's a good population of shad now but stripers are eating machines so we'll see if they affect how the bass fare in the Spring.

perfect thank - doing a new ramp for first time predawn i like to have as much info as possible.

I remember launching at birch creek for the frist time in the dark - about 10 snakes just swimming around the ramp when i walked up to check it out with a flash light. briskly walked back to truck...

I go to Somerville all the time from Smithville. Been using Overlook park ramp like everyone else. There’s a spot between the little tree and the ramp that’s deeper than the rest of the beach but you have to find it. I’m able to pull my boat up far enough to not get my feet wet. But I have a 16’ extra wide flat bottom with a short shaft 40hp Yamaha.
It’s been almost a month since the last trip. I go to Somerville for catfishing. Bastrop is all bass and Fayette county has some but usually crowded and I like space to drift for bigger fish. Me and the Ramps at Fayette don’t get along either with a 2wd F150 that doesn’t have enough wait in the back that slimy ramp isn’t to hospitable.

Show respect to other boats, enjoy every day and every bite on the water you never know when it’s going to be the last.
Keep a tight line and hook baited can’t catch ‘em on credit.

We received 14" of rain and I heard there was some floating debris so I went yesterday to see the lake keeping an eye out for anything in the water. It's full and the color of cardboard, 58 was the warmest water I found. Lots of shad judging by the number of birds hitting the water. I bass fished for a couple of hours throwing a white skirted spinnerbait half heartedly and decided to do a little catfishing down by the dam and soak up some sun. Hopefully they don't let any water out it's setting up to be a good spawn.

Any luck with that spinner? I plan to go out Friday before the rain. I want to launch at nails creek because it is much closer but can not find status update yet on their website.
