Todd wins!
Heard they are going to build Boyd a spot on the new "Lake Todd" and Todd Interests may become the headline sponsor for the MLF.
Word is Todd just purchased the Belmont Hotel in Dallas as well.

I just cannot fathom the thought of selling high dollar lots on a private lake and then selling the water off, this makes zero sense. The property would be worth what normal land in the area sells for if the lake had no water, seriously doubt a big time investment company would sell off the water on a property they planned on developing, anyway this would have never happened had the state had any intentions of buying the park in the first place. He’s not selling water. That’s just more stupid [censored] being spread around by the local hillbillies. They had a value on the LAND….the other amount came from the VALUE OF THE WATER and tax payer resources that you and I paid for (fish stockings). Like you said….lake front property isn’t lake front property without a lake. Would the land be worth anything without the water….likely not much, especially if you met the neighbors around there. There are definitely a few delusional people that keep making stuff up to post on this thread And there are definitely some blowhards from far away that have absolutely no idea of the actual details or history. I was unfortunate enough to sit through several days of court and heard directly that Todd does in fact plan to sell the water. He actually has been trying to negotiate the sell of the water rights from the moment he signed the contract over a year ago. He also has filed for several "Water" DBA's and is working on a pipeline easement. I agree it makes no sense to drain the lake, but he has a plan to sell off enough water to offset his investment. He had a water expert testify for hours on his behalf on day two. Oh wait here's one of many quotes from Todd on August 25....but hey I'm just delusional. “TPWD doesn’t have the money to purchase our on-going real estate development and compensate us for damages, let alone pay us fair market value for our water rights,” said Shawn Todd of Todd Interests last week. https://freestonecountytimesonline....es-final-offer-by-tpw-for-lake-property/I don't care if he sells every drop. How is it a water selling scam as you said. Where is the scam part

“I don't care if he sells every drop. How is it a water selling scam as you said. Where is the scam part”
Scam meaning, he acted for months like he was not interested in the water or ever selling it. It was only about a neighborhood and the preservation of nature according to Todd. All the while he intended to pipe the water to the metroplex.
This nightmare is over, greed and dishonesty won, the State has proven itself totally incompetent and Todd is pathological. Let’s move on, there’s really no need to continue trying to explain all the nuances.

Why is this a "nightmare"?

Do you have a link showing his intention to “pipe water to the metroplex” or is this just your opinion? On a lake that small I can’t imagine where that would be cost effective.

I posted a few hundred pages back, copies both of his LLC’s, one for surface water and one for ground water. The pipeline was discussed in court, you should have been there…lol
And yes, I am fully aware that at this point you guys are just jerking my chain. : )
We can revive this message string from time to time in the future, as the local government idiots discover that Todd is actually P.T. Barnham.

My guess is that he will sell about half. The "professional" appraisal value will have to be maintained for taxation purposes. In order for the Todd group, to meet projected profit benchmarks, he will have to balance selling about half the water while keeping some of it for lake front property value.

Hopefully the state Taxes their property at that $400 million valuation. It’s a ridiculous valuation.

I just cannot see that happening, he will end up with a big dry hole in the middle of his property, I think he used the water to get the appraisal so high so that the state would not be willing to pay that for it.

He better save some water for the golf course or he will be buying it back. I'm sure construction on the development will put a small dent in lake water and considering it's a small watershed I wouldn't think 5000 acres is going to far. Like to see pipeline Roi numbers.
