Your grandma might be on to something. It’s all been downhill since the microwave came out. Lots of people with symptoms of melon scrambling.

The delivery driver taught me how to run it. Parents didn’t want anything to do with that high tech stuff. I was 14. It was great popcorn maker 1978 or so

I remember my parents getting it out of the box but I don't remember what year it was, I was very young. It certainly wasn't in 1977, it was later than that. We must have been hillbillies.

Not necessarily. Apparently the mean price of the microwave was $425 in 1980. That would be like spending $1500 nowadays...on a new fangled brain scrambler.

don't remember when I got one but I do remember learning how not to cook eggs in one.

did you know you are supposed to poke a hole in them?

just recently I was reminded that you can have flames in the microwave when you hit 30 mins. instead of 3 when cooking sweet taters. damn zeros!

My parents never said that. The first time I heard the phrase was at the picture show when I watched Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dannie Davito. God knows what year that was. I thought it was a good movie at the time, but I wouldn't watch it again now.

1976 I think. It was an Amana and was HUGE. We barely had a counter big enough to hold it.

My mother-in-law bought us one when we got married it took a couple of weeks before I could install it. When I opened the box it was used some dingaling put their old microwave back in the box and took it back to the store. Sears replaced it without any hassle.
