Has anyone had wagon wheel interference that they couldn’t get rid of completely? I’ve had it in the shop and they’ve tried everything Hummingbird suggested, I’ve tried some different things, I’ve taken it off my boat and put it on my sons and it works fine. Put it back on mine hit the foot pedal on TM and here we go again. I’m wondering if it’s in my TM, by the way we changed out the fuse in the head. TIA

Are your boats wired the same with the same gauge wire?

Does it only do it when the trolling motor is running? I was getting a little wagon wheel in mine with the motor running. A TH marine G force prop nut stopped it. I guess I was getting some vibration..

What noise filter values have you tied on the unit? Helix or another head unit? Do you have the charger isolator installed? Do you have multiple units in your boat?

Yep. Had horrible interference that nobody could fix. Last year I got sick of working on my old ultrex and replaced it with a new one. That stopped most all of the interference. We had paid big attention to the trolling motor as the source prior to replacing it. Fuse in it was good. Even replaced the armature and other parts hoping to fix the interference but it never did. Not sure what part on the old ultrex was causing the issue. I still get some minor interference but the noise filter handles what i have now really well. That probably doesn't help you much but it is the experience that I had.

FFS is just another excuse for people that can’t fish very good to complain about.

Best advice I would give is to make sure your electronics are not on any of the 12V batteries you are using with the TM. Secondly, I would try some rf chokes on all of the cables. The TM generates an electromagnetic field from the motor, and this can affect the signal on the 360. Try to move the 360 as far above the TM as you can. I have an ultrex and HB 360 and I see some loss in the outer detail when in mega. If you are running any other units up front, and they are on the same freq as the 360 it could possibly affect the feedback on the 360. But the TM is tough on the signal, as it is a RFI generator. Try some rf chokes, and see if it helps. I run my 360 in 455 quite a bit, and it is less of an issue.

I'm curious BKS. Are you getting any visible corrosion on the armature housing on your trolling motor. My old ultrex looked like it was used in saltwater (which in never was. not one single time) when I finally replaced it. We checked and rechecked the ground. Even had one guy check something else that he said caused that type of corrosion. Just curious if there might be a link between the corrosion and the interference.

This will fix the problem more than likely. I found setting mine on 2 for the noise filter cured the wagon wheel for me.

Thanks for all the replies, I used the noise filter settings and found 2 and 4 were better. The grounds are good. The battery is a dedicated battery for the front electronics, I have a ferrite ring on the power. I’ve tried everything mentioned but changing out the TM. TM was new in 2018, so 5+ years old. Thanks to all that commented, except doctorb, not really sure where you were going with that.

Make sure you cable isn't coiled around or near the trolling motor hard-wire connection. Make sure that connection is secure!
