With all due respect, why would you think that a bunch of honkies from Texas have been fishing Minnesota recently?

Edit: look up “Broken Braid guide service” on FB, he’s down there fairly often.

It's been fishing pretty damn good lately.. Decent numbers and big fish mixed in..

You spend a few days there and you'll likely catch a biggun..

Just did a full day fishing trip with John -- (Broken Braid) and we did very well with me boating a 8.35 and I lost count of the 5&4 lbs Ray boated. We wore out 2 hrs left and put the boat on trailer. We felt safe going and coming.

I don’t think you could talk Charlie Harrelson back there for $100K. That story was wild. Thinking you are about to die tends to sour you on a fishing location.

I'm not naive or oblivious to crime in Mexico or other cities and states. I lived in Mission for almost 5 years. But that was 25 or so years ago and things were different. We went to Reynosa and Progresso multiple times a month. But Reynosa starting getting worse and those trips ended. With that being said I'm 65 and basically retired. I've got a couple of things I want to do before I pass on. One is I want a 150 class buck. I've got a 13lb bass I caught years ago. A 150 class buck to go with it would be the cream on the cream. But I also want to bass fish in Mexico. Either El Salto or Baccarac or Sugar Lake or other lakes. I'm still debating on what Mexico lakes to fish. I will probably book it after the first of the year. So I'm all ears on every thread on Mexico. I know Sugar is 30 minutes across the border. And I do remember bits and pieces of the story Rocky told. I belive it was him. But I'm also at an age to where I'm willing to take a little risk crossing the border. But I would probably hire a guide to take me. That would help some by going with someone who goes often.

I'm not defending anything Mexico.. But there's a slight distinction between where Charlie was and Sugar lake..

As in all things these days, take all things into consideration.. Make your own decision about whether you want to go or not..

I won't even go to San Antonio any more.. Probably got better odds of being accosted in any big American city..
