Who is willing to share above stated topic hacks !
My all time favorite is for finicky fish that are in the strike zone but won't hit.
Have to be drifting and using a tandem set up with no less than a one ounce jig tied first to second half ounce jig with a 3 foot tag line. Turn troller to jack rabbit or full power for @ 2 to 3 seconds Turn off troller and hold your set up perfectly still while allowing the 3 foot tag line pendulum down from its sped up position , the fish will grab the jig as it falls, the motion works .

Sounds like a lot of trouble and repositioning

Sounds like a lot of trouble and repositioning Sounds like a closed minded approach .

Not closed minded. I get more fish by drifting, in doing this, new fish are constantly coming under the boat and biting. When spotlocked I feel the fish under the boat get lethargic and quit biting. This works for me, whatever works for you, I would keep doing it. I didn’t mean to downgrade your thread.

I use this technique often. It gets many reactionary type bites as the bait pendulums back down.

That a good one I learned on accident. It happened to me several times when turning the nose of the boat with trolling motor about to hit another spot. Typically only required on a really tough day...

Greg you can try this also while drifting . Cast your flukes in front of the boat and let them free fall through the fish and prepare for the "peck" . In desperation times ya gotta try something diff. Thanks for sharing. This game is always evolving. Lol

The best hack I can offer up is that I don't even try dead sticking until the water temp is below 50

I use Lowrance Active Image when I deadstick. The only advantage it brings is to see how fish respond to the bait color, action. IMO its not a game changer like it is for crappie fishing.
