Was finally able to make it out on Monday. I fished with Steve Ford from Ford's Guide Service and ran into Josh Sutton from Southern Wind Guide Service when we were at the ramp. Steve and I hit a couple of spots and found fish but they didn't want to bite or were small. We had just moved behind the islands and had just put a decent fish in the box when Josh called and said he had found some fish. We moved up there and it was on. We hit the thumper and dropped shad and started hooking up immediately. Josh limited out in about an hour and took off but we stayed and released all of the ones that were not deep hooked. We probably caught 30-40 fish as well. At one point all five rods were out of the water because we could not bait fast enough. Ed from Ed's Guide service has been trolling as well as using bait and has been picking up some big fish as he is trolling. Here are a few pictures of the catches. If you are heading to Texoma, you can find shad in the back of the coves now. The water has warmed and the shad are there. We are finding the striper along the main river channels where small feeder creeks tie into the channel. We are also trolling the edge of the channels or across the flats in 30' of water. Fishing is amazing right now, so if you are thinking of going to Texoma do it! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/04/full-56976-180462-123_1.jpeg)

Sweet ! The floor pad under bait tank keep tank from slipping or moving around while boat is in transit or on water bouncing etc ??

it definitely helps for sure. I don't have one under mine and it can definitely slide even when its full. Plan to add one to my boat! Here is one more short with a double hook up while we still had one on the deck... Striper fishing is amazing when the bite is hot like that! https://youtube.com/shorts/Ld7fz0WE4Dc?feature=share

I finally put together a full video of the trip and also tried out some new Striper Rods from Catch the Fever. They are pretty amazing from a sensitivity standpoint. Does anyone use them?

Good " fire drill " action ! Tossing the bait away from the boat worked well ! I changed my setup to a light weight on the front 1/4 oz, then 2 2oz weights then a freeline off the back. Will see if that makes a difference!

Got an over today on a slab. I have a homemade splasher prop that helped. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/05/full-3905-182461-img_3129.jpeg)

I know the water is still a little warm but has anyone been catching fish deadsticking yet? Looking forward to some afternoon fishing this year!

I have two girls playing soccer on multiple teams and help coach one of the teams so it has been crazy busy for me! Trying to get out and fish more, Josh, Steve and Ed are all crushing fish right now so have been missing out!
