You should never be worried about low water water levels in the Amazon. It concentrates the fish. High water is the death to catching peacocks, they migrate back into the flood trees, that are miles deep.

Congrats to OP,

we went with ron speed this past year and it was great experience....high water did slow the fishing down...we had unexpected river flooding and I'm told we only caught about half as many as we would have if river hadn't flooded out into the trees...

The Kelleys did mine. They matched the photo I gave them perfectly. Including the natural imperfections of that warrior.

Our group best 5 went an insane 112#. Two other buddies also want mounts so whomever we go with is getting 4 replicas worth of work. I am VERY picky when it comes to taxidermy and am willing to wait a year or more for the right guy/gal. This is ART and should be treated like any other commissioned piece I might buy to hang on my wall. Our camp owner recommended a guy in Columbia who appears to do really good work, but I want to do some homework before getting these done.

Thanks in advance and can anyone tell me what the hell is going on with Fairfield Lake? smile

OMG! Fairfield? That lake has been talked about on here since June. What a fiasco.

I am looking for someone that has had a bone fish mounted... havent seen many that looked that good but figure if any of you are fishing for peacocks, you might have caught bone fish somewhere along the way. Any suggestions? I caught a monster many years ago... carried a plastic seamstress tape around for years and finally got a bone that was worthy.. cant find any company that has a mold as big as the one I caught.. 33.5 to fork in tail.. 18.5 girth... estimated between 13 and 14 lbs.

Picture did it no justice.. I had my heels on kayak foot pegs with legs straight trying to get my crotch out of the picture.. tail of fish was up against forward cockpit, 4 inchs past back of pegs..
