State record is 18 1/2 inches, 5lbs 1 oz…. Sadly its weight that counts. LOL! I caught a Bass several years back that was 3" longer than the state record.........but it was over 7 pounds short on weight.

I have to get used to see 18 inch white bass on regular basis here  They say everything is bigger in Texas and not OK?? What a BEAST

If you look at the record book in Texas, IIRC. White Bass, Yellow Bass, Hybrids and Striper almost every water body record was caught in Feb, March or April.
When their eggs are nearly fully developed and they have maxed out "body fat" prepping for winter.
My PB Hybrid was only 26" long but weighted in at 9.0lbs on certified TP&W scales. She was caught in Feb 2019
