Classic and AOY winners currently fishing the Elites who do not requalify this year will have first priority, and invitations will be based on the number of Legend points anglers have accumulated. For example, in the unlikely event both fail to requalify, Kevin VanDam (with seven AOY titles and four Classic wins) would rank above Rick Clunn (one AOY and four Classics).

If the two slots are not filled from the Elites, invitations will be extended to legends currently competing in the Bassmaster Opens. Any remaining openings after that will be offered to former Classic champions and AOY title holders who aren’t currently competing in B.A.S.S events.

Yeah they changed that last year, previously it had been you had to fish more than just one Open, IDK if it was just a division or the entire 9 but then Nixon happened and they changed it.

Wonder if Boyd contacted Bass about getting that Legend spot next year with his Classic win, he is likely cut from BPT next year.

Boyd was a customer of BASS, he didn’t like the product, thought he could build a better widget and customers would come buy his widget instead. You act like they are two cartels in Mexico or something… people start businesses all the time and customers usually come from other businesses- the hatred of MLF is irrational.

keep in mind that MLF was #1 rated outdoor show before they separated from BASS....I am told they tried to buy BASS and were turned down....prior to MLF,BASS had 30-35 hours national TV coverage.....MLF increased this to several hundred hours over several channels and resulting in huge increase in exposure and income for fishermen and their sponsors..they also were able to share the substantial venue and TV income with the fishermen...
Boyd Duckett,Gary Klein and several others have put several million dollars of income into pro fishermens pockets that was going to the owmers of BASS before....also they stepped up and bought FLW saving the livelihood of all the professionals fishing that circuit....
as mentioned above,the hatred of MLF is irrational....MLF has provided for and enabled another 80 fishermen to make a living plus saved all of the tournament opportunities for Tackle wearhouse invitations,BFL weekend plus high school college fisherman a trail to pursue their dreams of making a living....

despite all of that Boyd is very unlikable
