I always enjoy your reports. Thanks for sharing I think I'll give this a place a try next year during the sunfish spawn. I don't see any reports on sunfish but it looks like it's population of redear are growing and getting bigger, according to the TPWD surveys.

back out there Saturday 11/25.. it sucked.. Get there around 9:00 as two boats are already leaving. Lose a good one right off the bat on swimbait fishing hydrilla that comes up 8 feet from bottom in 10 feet of water.. just drifting with wind and letting bait sink in any holes in grass.. fish pulls drag and buried itself. Have to grab line to pull fish and 10 lbs of hydrilla up with it.. fish gets free from grass and fighting with rod again.. exciting times as it throws bait as I reach down to grab it.. definitely over 4 lbs.. Thought it was start of a good day… it wasnt.. not another bite for three hours.. paddled miles fishing shoreline and main channel.. nothing.. winds pick up and have hour long paddle back.. finally get bit and lose a small one.. almost give up and call it a day as I’m back at ramp.. decide I’m not going to get skunked and paddle over to grass line towards the dam. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/11/full-76913-205925-32e8e123_85b9_4c36_9438_8a76d4f91c1e.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/11/full-76913-205927-e54429f6_75c5_40cb_8e77_74a01523498c.jpeg) I’m beat, no Sunday fishing today.

Hottest swimbait yep, just started trying the 4 inch... I dont have the confidence in them yet but there has been a couple of times where I was only getting bit as the bait was falling through the grass or pads and it was out catching my favorite 5 inch baits.. wondered if it was the faster sink rate since I was using the same 5/0 weighted flashy swimmer I use with 5 inch baits or the smaller size of the bait that was triggering the fish to bite it.
